One Nation Under A
Groove chart is comprised of over 120 mixshow DJs around the country from
various radio stations, internet stations, satellite radio and subscription
services and is compiled by Harry Towers for Deet Promotions.
Closing out this all house Bits & Bobs would be the Lenny B. mix of
“Shakedown.” 95 percent of y’all hitting this single are on that mix in
particular and like Eric Kuppers mix of “Ends Of The Earth” this too is a
modern masterpiece. Liquid 360 has written a great song and Bruce has turned
out a phenomenal pop vocal that is vulnerable without being wimpy. It
eschews all those trix that lesser vocalist use to take the place of talent
such as breathing heavy and over the top histrionix. You know he can blow
but it’s in the restrained way he lets you have it that tells the real story
here. This is just the kind of single that if dance radio latches onto, it
could cross over at Top 40 in the Spring. Remember Top 40 always prefers a
male vocal and although that is the exact opposite of dance radio it’ll take
a record like this to really open the doors at radio. They will play Madonna
but when I come with Rachel Panay they will say, of course “Hung Up” worked
it was Madonna and not play Rachel Panay. We nail Liquid 360 when I come
with Rachel Panay they’ll say, well Liquid 360 worked so let’s give this one
a chance. In the end we can only count on ourselves and although we
appreciate the fact that a real dance artist like Madonna has never turned
her back on the artform that made her famous, our future will have to be
built on the bax of artists such as Georgie, Porgie, Rachel Panay,
Jamiroquai, Sun, Liquid 360, Lucas Prata, Fredrick Ford, Shape: UK, Mynt and
Cyprus feat. Michael James Nigro.
